Nanomedicine Aims to Precisely Target Fat Tissue

I was recently featured in a Medscape article exploring an exciting area of obesity research: using nanomedicine to deliver therapies more precisely to adipose tissue. The goal is to move beyond treatments that act broadly throughout the body and investigate ways to target the biology of fat tissue itself.

I contributed my perspective as an obesity specialist and researcher, discussing what this emerging approach could mean for the future of obesity care. While this technology is still being studied, more precise, biology-based treatments could eventually give us additional tools to individualize how we treat obesity.

Our understanding of obesity continues to evolve, and I believe the future will be about treating the underlying biology, not simply focusing on the number on the scale.
